The Realization of the Derivational and the Inflectional Processes in the Students’ Writing

In learning a language, students are supposed to study linguistics in order be able recognize the root of words, how they formed, and context language. This aimed explain realization derivational process, inflectional causes error students’ writing. used descriptive qualitative design. The researchers analyzed writing essays written by XII-graders Vocational High School Al-Musyaffa Kendal academic year 2021/2022. instruments document analysis theory interview. It Dulay et.al. (1982). findings demonstrate that made errors belong both processes. Most omission derivation, yet fewer addition malformation derivation. Besides, there were many problems dealing with inflection. confused about deal noun inflection verb Nevertheless, misordering addition, cause did was mostly carelessness as it occurs due lack motivation less enthusiasm engaging teaching process. Expectantly, this research will provide an essential contribution reference comprehending word formation contribute forming English words.
